DefenceArgentina: DefenceAs assessed at November 2009, Argentina’s Armed Forces numbered an estimated 73,100: Army 38,500, Navy 20,000 (including Naval Air Force), Air Force 14,600. There were also paramilitary forces numbering 31,240. In April 1995 conscription was ended and a professional (voluntary) military service was created in its place. Defence Budget: An estimated 8,520m. new pesos in 2009.
